Aftercare and Education Programs in the San Jose Area
The recovery process does not end when an individual completes one of our drug treatment programs. Continuing support is the key to a healthy recovery from addiction. Treatment is just the beginning of a lifelong process of growth and recovery in all areas of life affected by drug addiction/alcoholism.
Lifetime Aftercare to Support You
In order to provide a complete, supportive continuum of care, we provide weekly aftercare for program graduates (residential, day, or outpatient treatment). Although they’ve completed a more intensive level of care, program graduates are more likely to successfully maintain abstinence if they’re involved in long-term recovery activities.
Our aftercare program consists of a weekly group facilitated by an experienced counselor who helps guide clients in their recovery efforts, assisting them in meeting the goals contained in their continuing care plans. Aftercare is a forum in which clients may explore successes, obstacles, and day-to-day issues that confront them, receiving feedback and support from the group facilitator and other participants.
Alumni Events For Community Activity
Graduates may also attend alumni meetings and events. SSH Alumni Association activities include an annual picnic, other social events, and sponsorship for new clients. The aftercare program is designed to provide ongoing support in the form of structured activities for clients, alumni, staff, families, and the community.
Family Education Programs for Recovery Education
Do you have a family member in treatment? Do you know what to expect—for them and for yourself? Support Systems Homes can help you too.
Addressing addiction can be a stressful, difficult concept for family and friends of addicted individuals to see through. Not to mention that the recovery process may seem daunting or even overwhelming for everyone involved. Because addiction so profoundly affects not only the addict/alcoholic but the family unit as a whole, Support Systems Homes has developed a family program to support those who have been impacted by another person’s substance abuse problem.
The goal of our family program is to provide education about addiction and recovery, to help family members begin their own healing process. The educational component meets once a week and assists the client and family members in understanding the complicated web of addiction. As well as its impact on the family as a whole.
All family members of clients participating in detox, residential treatment, day treatment, and outpatient drug rehab are welcome to attend this program.
